Overview
With its elegant Jacobean Great Hall, the Visit England four star Thurnham Hall is a 12th-century country estate set in nearly 30 acres of grounds in scenic Lancashire. It features a leisure centre with heated indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, fitness centre and beauty salon, available for a surcharge. The grounds include a picnic area, fishing lake and playground.Set in either the historic main house or in modern courtyard buildings, the spacious apartments include a well-equipped kitchen with hob, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, kettle and coffee machine. Each apartment has a private bathroom with bath or shower and hairdryer.
Freeview TV, a DVD player and iHome alarm clock are also provided. Some apartments have a balcony or terrace.The on-site restaurant and lounge bar provide delicious local and international cuisine in a friendly setting. For your convenience a grocery store is also available on-site. Wi-Fi access is available throughout the property, at an additional cost.
The historic university city of Lancaster, with its medieval castle, Maritime Museum and the majestic Williamson Park, is just 5 miles away and local buses stop at the gates of the property. The glorious scenery of the Lake District National Park and the Lune Valley are easily reached in 45 minutes’ drive. Please provide a printed copy of your booking confirmation on arrival. A refundable security deposit of £100 per apartment is required upon arrival. This deposit is obligatory and must be paid with a valid debit or credit card. Cash is not accepted.
Guests who are unable to provide the deposit will not gain entry to the apartment. Hen and stag party bookings will not be accepted. The resort applies this policy strictly. Should a reservation be made for guests in a hen or stag party, the party will not be able to check-in and will not receive a refund.
Should your conduct or that of any of your party during the course of your stay give resort management cause for concern, an additional payment of £1000 will be required by way of security deposit. This deposit will be refunded to you in full at the end of your stay provided that no damage has been caused. In serious cases, the resort reserves the right to evict guests whose anti-social behaviour affects the family-friendly atmosphere of the resort. When booking 5 rooms or more, different policies and additional supplements may apply.
Additional fees apply for the use of the leisure centre and other resort facilities. Please contact the property directly for further information. Only hotel guests are permitted on the premises and to use the hotel facilities. Pets are not allowed at the hotel.
Apartments are not cleaned on a daily basis. The number of cleans depends on the length of stay. Extra cleaning services are available for an additional fee. Sofa beds are not made up on arrival, please contact the property directly to arrange this in advance.
One child under 2 years stays free of charge in a child's cot/crib. The maximum number of cots/cribs in a room is 1. There is no capacity for extra beds in the room. Early checkin and late checkouts may be possible subject to availability, late checkout charges will apply.
Wifi is available from £5.95 per day for 2 devices. Charges vary depending on room type. Car parking space is limited to one permit per room. The swimming pool operates an adult-only policy at certain times.
Tables in the restaurant are limited and advance booking is recommended to guarantee your reservation. Breakfast served 9-11am Fri-Sun, lunch available 12-3pm every day, afternoon tea available 12-3pm Mon-Sat, dinner available 5-8.45pm Mon-Sat and 5-7.45pm Sun. The bar is open daily 11am-10.30pm.
