The parador itself is typical in its style and service. We stayed in a third floor room with a terrace which had a view of the gardens and the landscape. The rooms were quiet and well insulated with terracotta floors and dark wood furniture. The reception staff were very helpful, if a little overworked, as the hotel was full. The car parking is free but it's first come, first served and there are signs stating it is not security watched, which gave a feeling of insecurity. We didn't use the pool or the garden facilities but they are suitable for couples or families. We ate out at one of the very few local restaurants which was above average. Benaventa itself is not an attractive town with lots of graffiti and little else to tempt you to stay there. It is a stopping-off point on your travels, but the parador is worth a visit if you are on that route.
