The hotel is relatively new, is finished to a very high standard, and was very comfortable. The manager, was very helpful and informative and was happy to accommodate our later-than-planned arrival due to travel hold-ups. Our room was upgraded from a double room to a suite. The room was spacious and well appointed, with a comfortable bed that came with plenty of pillows and a nice leather sofa. The suite included a 'kitchenette' area with a refrigerator and microwave, although we did not use it as with Oxford around 15 minutes away in the car we decided to eat out all weekend. We appreciated the spacious walk-in shower and the attention to detail in the bathroom, with a range of toiletries, face towels, and shoe shine and emergency sewing kits all provided. We also appreciated the well-stocked hospitality tray with its range of herbal teas as well as the usual teas and coffee. We were provided with vouchers for use in Winston's, the hotel's wine bar and cafe which could be used to purchase breakfast items from a primarily 'continental' selection or to buy snacks/drinks at other times of day. We were perfectly satisfied with the baguettes (with jam and butter for me and bacon for my other half), coffee and fruit juice that we selected for breakfast, but those with a yearning for a larger 'traditional English' cooked breakfast in the morning might wish to go out for breakfast and save their vouchers for later in the day. The hotel was quiet and the atmosphere relaxed throughout our stay, and we will happily recommend it to our friends.
