The hotel was close to Matlock centre and about 20 mins walk to Matlock Bath. The rooms were clean but dated, although the bed was very comfortable, the en-suite also a bit dated but it did the job. The pub and dining areas needed some updating, didn't actually drink in there as we had gone for the illuminations. The poor waitress looking very stretched in the morning, and no one spoke at breakfast, but there was a choice of full English, bacon or sausage sandwich, but limited on other cereals etc The staff were friendly enough and we had no trouble checking in or out. and had good parking. Despite it being on a busy road, there was secondary glazing so no real problem with noise.
