Top 5 Fashionable Destinations

Sometimes only a little retail therapy will do.

Whether you’re travelling to a destination famous for its high-end fashion, or you fancy grabbing a shopping bargain, we’ve rounded up a list of the most fashionable destinations around the world.

New York

We can’t talk about shopping without mentioning New York.

Visit some of the city’s most famous stores, including Barneys, Bloomingdales and Macy’s; even if you don’t end up buying anything, you’ll find that the stores themselves are incredible!

If you prefer more unique and vintage items, Brooklyn is the place to go. It’s known for being at the cutting edge of food and fashion, so you can expect to find all sorts at your disposal.

With so much choice, you could very easily spend your entire trip to New York shopping, if that’s what your heart desires.

Paris

If you’re looking for an upmarket shopping experience then you’ve come to the right place.

Designers such as Dior, Givency, Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent all have flagship stores in Paris – even if you’re just window shopping, they’re worth taking a look. The Galeries Lafayette, located on the 9th arrondissement, has to be one of the most famous department stores in France, where you’ll find an array of  upmarket shops.

For vintage lovers, make sure you visit the Les Puces de Saint-Ouen (Les Puces for short), which is a flea market where you can expect to find over 3,000 traders offering a range of products including vintage clothes.

London

Of course, if you’re looking for something a little closer to home then London has plenty to offer. Naturally, Oxford Street would be the first point of call where you’ll find all the major high street shops and plenty of designer stores too.

If you want upmarket then head to Harrods and Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, and of course not forgetting Bond Street along the way.

For something a little different, you’ll find plenty of vintage shops down Brick Lane – and of course you can’t forget Camden Market!

LA

If you like shopping malls, welcome to LA! You are spoilt for choice when it comes to multiplex shopping as LA has a huge range of shopping malls. Naming just a few are Beverly Center Shopping Mall, Century City Shopping Center and Westside Pavilion.

For designer shopping (or just celeb spotting), head to the famous Rodeo Drive where the rich and famous spend their pocket money in shops such as Burberry, Chanel and Cartier. Melrose Avenue has something a little more hip with a range of shops from boutique to affordable vintage fashion.

Barcelona

Like the sound of shopping in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Spain? There are many shopping districts in Barcelona, the most famous of which are: Passeig de Gracia, Las Ramblas, Portal de l’Angel and La Maquinista.

Passeig de Gracia is where you’ll want to head for the big labels such as Chanel, Luis Vuitton and Diesel, which are accompanied by the stunning architecture of Gaudi. For more affordbale high street shopping, go to Portal de l’Angel where you can snap up steals in Zara, H&M and Bershka. La Maquinista is Catalonia’s biggest shopping mall and boasts over 225 shops, perfect for when the weather isn’t so great.
