The Magaluf Takeover

Magaluf is a non stop party resort where thousands of holidaymakers head each year to soak up the sun, let go and enjoy themselves. This year we’ve added a very exciting new product, The Magaluf Takeover, to our  tickets and attractions. The Magaluf Takeover is a wristband-only package which lets you into all of the top bars and clubs in Magaluf  for a week, as well as hosting some amazing parties.  Louise Saunders, one of the Travel Republic customer service team, went out to Magaluf this summer on a girls holiday so we asked her to test the Magaluf Takeover wristbands and here’s how she got on…

‘Me and 6 of my girlfriends have just come back from a week in Magaluf; this was our second year at the resort and by far the best. As soon as we’d arrived and settled into our hotel, we collected our Magaluf Takeover wristbands and with our weeks itinerary in hand, started planning the exciting week ahead.

Magaluf Takeover 3

On the first night we were invited to the Sotavento Apartments, (which is the main base for parties and events) for a welcome party, which was then followed by a small bar crawl to the best clubs/bars along the strip. The party started with an introduction and some games, which turned out to be loads of fun – as well as a great way to meet the people who we were going to be spending the week with as part of the Takeover.

On the second day we made our way to a 4-hour pool party, again at the Sotavento. The pool party had a great atmosphere, with a live DJ and a full bar. The party games started early, in preparation for the famous Magaluf Mile bar crawl in the evening. The Magaluf Mile is an 8-bar, t-shirt themed bar crawl at the top spots along the strip, which includes a free bar at the end.

Through the rest of the week, we were able to relax at the hotel pool or travel down to the beach and generally explore the rest of the resort, which was ideal as we also wanted to do some of our own activities. We decided to add the boat party and water park day trip to our package as we thought it would be good to do some day time activities and we liked the staff who hosted the parties. I would highly recommend both of these trips as the water park was a great day out and the boat party was a lot of fun, particularly as it was fancy dress!

Magaluf Takeover

The Magaluf Takeover package also includes free entry into BCM nightclub, which is the biggest nightclub in Majorca and has some of the best DJ’s in the charts playing. Tickets are usually priced at €60, so obviously this was a massive saving for us. With your entry you’re given free drinks all night, a guest performer (we had Labyrinth) and a free t-shirt. We all agreed that this was probably the best part of the package and I have to say a holiday in Magaluf isn’t complete without a trip to BCM!

In comparison to the previous year it felt like we managed to get a lot more squeezed into our holiday. The Takeover wristbands meant we made some good friends with all of the activities going on, visited a lot more bars and clubs than before, and most importantly we saved a lot of money. We’re already planning our Magaluf 2014 holiday and we will most definitely be buying Takeover wristbands.’

Tempted? You can now book your Magaluf Takeover tickets on the Travel Republic site. The Takeover lasts 8 weeks throughout the summer and there’s only one more week left this summer, which is 21st-28th August. If you’re thinking ahead for 2014, then we’ll get dates and prices by October so be ready to book early to avoid disappointment!

We have booked a hotel already at Magaluf during the 6th and 13th of June 2014. Are we able to just buy the Magaluf takeover wristbands because on their website they only give the package option with hotels and flights ect.
If so,because we’re not staying in a takeover hotel how do we know what is going on each day and where to go?
Thanks. Where would we pick our wristbands up from?
