Universal’s Volcano Bay is now open, and has already proven a massive hit with theme park enthusiasts.
A waterpark unlike any other, Volcano Bay is made up of four areas, each filled with its own rides and attractions. And in the middle of it all is the towering volcano, Krakatau, which houses the Krakatau Aqua Coaster – the world’s first water rollercoaster.
With so many people eager to visit the new water theme park, it’s important to make the most of your time here, which is why we’ve put together some great tips for visiting Volcano Bay!
Timing is everything when it comes to making the most out of Volcano Bay; that’s why staying in one of Universal’s on-site hotels is crucial. To be as close to the park as possible, we recommend Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, which actually has a tunnel linking it directly to the waterpark.
Staying on-site doesn’t just give you ease of access though. It also gives you…
Forget the weather
Depending what time you travel to Orlando, there may be a few rain showers. However, don’t let this put you off! The showers never last for long, so just grin and bear it, and in no time you’ll find the sun is shining again.
Enjoy early park admission
That’s right! When you stay in one of Universal’s hotels, you’ll be granted early park admission, meaning you can enter Volcano Bay an hour before everyone else.
This extra hour is best spent claiming your spot in one of the prime beach locations, as they do run out quickly. Also, instead of lingering at the front of the park, try heading straight to the back, where it’ll be less crowded.
The brand new TapuTapu technology allows you to virtually queue for rides, as well as functioning as your wallet, meaning you don’t have to carry anything around with you.
Your TapuTapu will buzz when it’s your turn to visit the ride you’ve virtually queued for, meaning while you’re waiting you can relax or take a turn in the Kopiko Winding River.
By wearing your TapuTapu wristband, you can also trigger certain events with a wave of your wrist, such as playing with interactive water fountains and other surprises around the park!
Keep an eye out for rides with a ‘ride now!’ sign. This means you’ll be able to jump right onto those rides without losing your place for whatever other ride you’ve virtually queued for with your TapuTapu wristband.
