Where should you go on Holiday Next?

We all have a different idea of what the perfect holiday looks like.

Maybe yours is lounging on the beach with a pina colada, rousing only to top up your sun cream, or perhaps your holiday just wouldn’t be complete without exploring a bustling city, drinking up the local culture and history.

Whatever your perfect holiday looks like, whether you’re travelling as a couple or with the kids, want to go all-out or keep to a budget, we’ve got some great suggestions for you.

For beach lovers

You won’t find finer beaches than in Bali. Renowned for its rugged coastline and turquoise waters, Bali is paradise on earth – and is rife for exploration.

If you’re looking for a relaxed beach that offers warm waters and silky sands then head to Nusa Dua, fringed by plenty of luxury hotels in case you get a little peckish. For something more upbeat, you’ll feel at home in Kuta, the party capital of the island; there’s always something going on in Kuta, whether it’s day or night!

With such breathtaking landscapes, Bali is the perfect choice for couples and families alike.

Treat yourself to some retail therapy on the streets of Shanghai, where the likes of Prada and Burberry are commonplace and cool vintage shops offer all manner of goodies. There are also bustling markets where you can spend hours exploring!

Shanghai also offers a plethora of art galleries, gourmet restaurants and live music venues, making for an unforgettable city break.

No matter what age you are, you’ll love a visit to Disney World, a famous mecca of rollercoasters and attractions which you’ll no doubt recognise from your favourite Disney films. And if you want to beat the queues then a Disney FastPass+ will allow you to reserve access to some Disney attractions in advance, including shows, parades and meet and greets.

Of course, Orlando also boasts Universal Orlando, complete with three amazing theme parks, including the magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter – always a hit with families!

For couples

With 365 beaches – that’s one for every day of the year! – Antigua is a great choice for couples who want to leave the modern world behind and wallow on the golden sands.

However, if you manage to tear yourself away from one of Antigua’s beautiful beaches, then the capital of St. John’s is always worth exploring, thanks to its beautiful harbour, colourful colonial architecture and the famous St. John’s Cathedral.

For the evenings, a visit to Shirley Heights comes highly recommended. Commanding views of the Caribbean Sea, you can enjoy the sunset with a cocktail in your hand at this notorious lookout spot.

English Harbour, Antigua in the Caribbean is a famous location as a hurricane hole and Nelson's dockyard. Falmouth Harbour is in the background.
