When To Go

The weather is one of the main highlights of Corfu, with July and August being the hottest months as temperatures soar into the 30s. This is also peak holiday season, with more direct flights into the island and hotels will generally be at their busiest. Away from the peak summer season, September and October remain warm with the crowds dying down.

Sightseeing and must-sees

  • Aqualand, Corfu Town
    Within easy reach from anywhere on the island you have to take the kids here at least once. It’s largely considered to be one of the best waterparks in Europe with a huge variety of slides and swimming pools
  • Go to Kassiopi
    This town in the north of the island still retains its wonderful charm as the fishing port is flanked by a castle dating back to the 13th century. A great place to shop the markets, go cycling and walking or just relax on the beach.
  • Have a night out in Kavos
    Located right in the far south of the island, Kavos is a night spot of renowned atmosphere and energy. Countless bars and world famous DJs make this the ideal place for anybody wanting to party until the early hours of the morning.
  • Spend the day in Paleokastritsa
    Beach meets monastery here in this enchanting and hugely popular town that remains largely unspoilt. The sandy beach is ideal for swimming with warm and clear water and you can hire a small boat and explore the nearby caves.
  • Watch the cricket, Corfu Town
    Believe it or not cricket is a very popular sport on the island after the Royal Navy first played a match here in 1823. The island now has five grounds, including one in the main square, which is a World Heritage Site. Matches are played between locals and touring English sides.
