About Jamaica

Anyone who’s visited this beautiful Caribbean will tell you it’s wonderfully unique. Whether it’s Jamaica’s unique cultural history, the unique blend of relaxation and adventure, or the unique approach to life, Jamaica is a place like no other.

From basking on the white sands of Montego Bay to adventuring in the misty Blue Mountains, Jamaica offers a unique flavour to its many experiences. Compared to other islands in the Caribbean, Jamaica has a strong connection to Africa and this has had a distinct effect in everything from politics, to cooking, to music. Bob Marley was a famous resident of Kingston while nearby Port Royal is the best place to experience the 14th Century history of Jamaica’s infamous pirates. Whether you want to learn the history of the pirate rum, or simply sip rum and coke on a beach, Jamaica won’t disappoint.

Book With Us

We offer more than 300 hotels and apartments across Jamaica, and can help set up flights to all the top airports in the country, including Kingston, Montego Bay, Port Antonio and Runaway Bay. With so much on offer it’s likely you’ll want to explore the island, and if you wanted to hire a car we can help.

When To Go

Jamaica’s tropical maritime climate means that the island has beautiful weather all year round, with temperatures ranging from 26°C in the winter to 30°C in the summer. There is a rainy season from May to November, although rain will normally only fall for short periods so don’t rule out a break during this time. Many people choose to go to Jamaica in winter to escape the cold at home, so this tends to be when hotels are at their busiest.

Sightseeing and must-sees

  • Climb Dunn's River Falls, Ocho Rios
Dunn’s River Falls offers guided climbs or, for those who want to stay dry, a picturesque view from the beach at the bottom.
  • Pay homage at the Bob Marley Museum, Kingston
Visit the musical legend’s former home and recording studio in Kingston and learn about the fascinating development of reggae music. The museum was also home to the Tuff Gong record label that was founded by The Wailers in the 1970s.
  • Take in the sun at Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth
Listen to the waves lap against the sand at Treasure Beach, which actually encompasses four sandy coves - Billy’s Bay, Frenchman’s Bay, Calabash Bay and Great Pedro Bay.
  • Tour the stomping ground of pirates, Port Royal
In the 17th Century Port Royal had a reputation as a safe haven for the most dangerous pirates, including the infamous Henry Morgan. Today the city is a lot more peaceful, but relics from its past remain, including the Old Gaol House.
  • Try coffee in the clouds, Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains make up Jamaica’s longest mountain range and on a clear day the outline of Cuba can be seen from the peak. The world-famous Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee is grown here and nothing beats drinking a cup while taking in the view.
