About Costa del Sol

Visit the Costa del Sol and hang on to the very tip of southern Spain, just inches from the bright blue sea. Make the most of the sunshine coast, so-called because of the impressive 11 hours of sunshine it enjoys, on average, per day, during June, July and August. Even the spring and early autumn months enjoy between six and eight hours – so whenever you decide to spend your holidays in Costa del Sol, sunshine is one thing you’ll be sure to have in abundance. Pick from a fun-filled activity holiday in Fuengirola, explore the Spanish culture and architecture of old in Marbella, or simply soak up the sun on the incredible beaches in Torremolinos.

When To Go

The clue is in the name - Costa del Sol – the sunshine coast. If you like long hot summer days, and dining outdoors without the need for layers, then visit between April and October when the average temperature will likely be in the high 20s and early 30s. The temperature drops in the winter months thanks to a cool sea breeze, but even in March and November you can enjoy a pleasant break. The major resorts tend to be considerably quieter during the off-peak months (outside of July and August), but remember that many restaurants and bars will close for winter.
