This was our third visit to the Hilton Marsa Alam, Jan/Feb in our opinion is the right time to go with daytime temps of around 25/26 deg. with a dry atmosphere and pleasant breeze . Food varied and different and always able to find something to suit all tastes. Four huge pools ,but only two heated in winter ,plenty of sunbeds. Loads of sunbeds on beach ,and the house reef is perfact for snorkelling.
Top Tip: Nothing around the hotel you are stuck with the hotel and its facilities, but that's not a problem.

1. There is nowhere else to go for 30km+....so you are effectively "locked-in" to this resort. We found this very confining.
2. "All-inclusive" does not really mean ALL-INCLUSIVE....check before you buy!!!
3. Staff are generally wonderful and friendly, but have a poor understanding of what "good service" means. (I expect they are very poorly paid).
4. Rooms are wonderful!
5. Marsa restaurant is like a huge canteen. I would recommend Breezes but my favorite for food, setting and music is the Souk restaurant.
6. Ahmed (conscierge) and Awad (catering manager I think) are both extremely helpful.
Top Tip: Nothing...! Staff recommend a trip to Port Ghalib....but I'm sorry we bothered.

Not up to Hilton 5 star hotel standards.
It needs a re-fit, all fitments are looking shabby, and the bedding is very bobbly, so rough on your skin if you have had a little sun
please take note local wine and different coffee's are not on the all inclusive package, this would have been a must but I didn't realise it was not included.
there are no toilets around the resort apart from one set on the beach and one set in reception.
the staff are very pleasant

Hotel was clean, tidy and well maintained, however the beach was a good walk/ buggy ride and you could only gain access to the sea via an adjacent public beach. The main restaurant often had queues and the waiters / bar staff weren't very attentative, the food was a little repetitive and the ala'carte restaurant wasn't much better.
Top Tip: No the hotel was quite remote

Very poor service due to a serious lack of staff, (although plenty of apparent 'managers' around, directing the activities of the few!).
No toilet facilities beside (or even close to) any of the pools (which were all lovely).
Rooms and facilities are excellent but poorly maintained so broken items go unattended (even if attention sought).
All-inclusive food is OK but very repetitive for periods of longer than 5 days!
Hotel uses high levels of toxic chemicals for insect control.Hotel water is desalinated sea water which also has high chemical content - the combination of different chemicals used can cause skin irritation.
The animation team were awful and the entertainment generally very poor and also repetitive.
Top Tip: Seek a room on the beach entry side of the resort complex as its quieter and beside a headed pool (if staying during winter months).
