The hotel was disappointing. Having stayed there in 2007 I wanted to take my husband to the hotel but the room was less than satisfactory. It was dark with little ventilation - so hot the milk curdled and we had to request a fan. The shower was almost unusable as it was built into a sloping roof and it was not possible to stand up under the shower head - I am not excessively tall at 5'4". The kettle leaked and we had to request a replacement.
The communal areas (bar/lounge/restaurant/lobby) are beautiful and quite breathtaking. The hotel was under-occupied but even so my requested room was not allocated - we were offered an upgrade at an additional 20 euros per night which I presume would have given us an acceptable room similar to that which had been allocated to me on my previous stay.
Our room was not up to the standard expected of a 4* hotel and I would, therefore, have difficulty recommending it.
“ Top Tip: The old town of Lille is definitely worth visiting but Euralille Shopping Mall is the same as shopping malls all over the world.

“ Top Tip: Hotel located only 5-10 minute walk into the centre of Lille (Grand Place). All restaurants in this area were fantastic value for money, friendly and fab food.

The interior of the hotel is really wonderful , however after paying an upgrade of 60 euros for 3 nights found the room no more than average , made us wonder what the basic room would have been like .
Drinks in the hotel bar very expensive 34 euros for 2 beers & 2 disoronos.
“ Top Tip: The restaurant directly opposite the hotel across the water I think is called Au quai des Wault is very old fashioned French probably hasn't changed in years but the food was superb. The bar Tabac just around the corner great for a leisurely drink run by a couple of pleasant young ladies at reasonable prices

“ Lovely hotel with amazing interior in the entrance etc. Room was very nice (looks almost ready for an upgrade but was fine for the weekend). Very happy with the stay although had to wait 1 hour for a taxi to our dinner reservation. Not a huge deal as they called our restaurant to let us know but they were a little slow in sorting out a 2nd taxi once they realised the 1st was not coming. Still didn't ruin the weekend though.
“ Top Tip: le Quartier Gourmet Restaurant. Incredible food and not overly expensive. One of the best meals I have had.
