“ Overall the hotel was very good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a lot of variety during mealtimes but the food overall was slightly disappointing as there was not that many Cretan dishes on offer. The rooms were functional and clean but was disappointed that although there was a kettle in the room, there was no tea/coffee provided. The location of the hotel is quite far from the beach but the scenery is beautiful and peaceful.
“ Top Tip: A car hire is a must as there are plenty of beautiful sights to visit on the island.

Filion Suites was a lovely hotel. Immaculately clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food. A great pool-side bar. Beautiful pools and very quiet and tranquil set high in the mountains. It is a long way from the beach up a very steep hill and would be very difficult to walk to the beach. We had to hire a car in the end despite the best efforts of the hotel to ferry people up and down. The hotel mini bus only took 7 people and at times had to make 5 trips down to take people to the beach which intailed long waits. However,we would definitely go back and hire a car at the airport as it's a very simple drive down to Bali.
Travel Republic were excellent and even happy to make changes after the booking was made. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent e-mail confirmation and information sent.
“ Top Tip: Hire a car, it's very isolated but beautifully quiet if you just want to get away from everything.

“ The hotel is spotlessly clean, and Manos who is in the bar is exceptional nothing is too much trouble. The food however leaves a lot to be desired whilst everything else is 5 star the food certainly is not. The hotel will run you to the beach and whilst it says set times they are flexible, however the bus only holds 8 people so they need to have a bigger bus as there was often 18 plus people waiting. The pools are great and very clean the tennis court is also brand new.
“ Top Tip: Bali its self was a revolation, we have been to Crete several times but never to Bali, there are lots of little beaches and a small port as well as some good restaurants. You need to be a bit adventurous there are lots of hidden beaches, if its shops and nighlife you are after then Bali is not for you.

“ Very quiet and pleasant hotel. Great views. Too far out of town to walk (30mins). Shuttle service during day should have been available at night. Pleasant bar area. Rooms very nice. Needs a gym to be 5*. Extras and drinks expensive. Food satisfactory rather than good, but always a good choice. Breakfast better. Reception staff seemed a little abrupt and not as helpful and forthcoming as they could be. Would return to this hotel.
“ Top Tip: Worth hiring a canoe at the beach in Bali. Very good value.
