Kaissa is an excellent hotel right on the seafront in Gouves, walking distance to the shopping area and bus stops for Heraklion or east to Malia and Agios Nikolaus. The attached Xylino Taverna provides the breakfasts and evening meals if you are half board. The taverna is also open all winter. We would definitely stay there again and met people who have booked to come back next year.
Top Tip: Walking distance from Kaissa are Paradise and Anfield, both serve good food at reasonable prices. The beach by the harbour is nice and sheltered.

This was the fifth year of staying here but the first year for "half board" and must say that it is not so good like this. Basic breakfasts and a reduced menu for the evening meals. For 5 nights, although we had paid for the evening meals, we did eat at other restaurants - which was a shame as the restaurant @ Kaissa is very good if you can chose from main menu.
The new manager of the "complex" not so helpful as the previous person but the lovely cleaning/service people were amazing - as ever.

Unfortunately we will not be going back to Kaissa for some time.
Top Tip: Yes several good restaurants.

We chose this hotel mainly because it had good reviews. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind with your family then this place is hard to beat. The pool area always had sunbeds available, meals were very good in the restaurant which overlooks the sea. All the staff I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful.
The apartment was in need of a little TLC, but they were cleaned every few days and we always had plenty of clean towels.
This hotel offers real value for money and we hope to return in the future.
Top Tip: My son is a Liverpool fan, so he was delighted to find the Anfield Bar round the corner. (Turn right out of the hotel)
Also we had a very good lunch at the Pella Restaurant (Turn left out of the hotel)
