“ Hotel and facilities were ok; although in need of refurbishment. However the food left an awful lot to be desired and had to eat out of resort despite being all inclusive

Hotel suitable for all ages but there are some areas with steps so need to be able to deal with this - have been to Rhodes before and is very hilly all over so if you intend to go out and about again need to bear this in mind. The hotel has several pools, we didnt use the main pool as we were some way from this and used the pool near our room which was just what we were looking for, nice and quiet with a restaurant for drinks and lunch. Pool was lovely and looked out to the sea and there were plenty of sun beds too. The room was very disappointing, tired and in need of an update, shabby bathroom and shower too. The bed was 2 twins pushed together and made up separately and the mattresses were stained.
We were all inclusive and the range of food in the restaurant was mostly great although we would have liked to see more Greek food there, there was a wide range of nationalities so they were catering for all. The main bar area needs more seating to cater for all. The bar staff and main restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating. The beach is a walk over the bridge which we did once however the pool was much easier and so we stayed there.
Having chosen the week after the summer half term we didn't encounter many families there except those with preschool aged children so it was quieter. All in all we enjoyed ourselves as we just wanted arest but the room let this hotel down - definitely a 3 star not 5 by any stretch of the imagination.

The first thing to say is that this is not a 5 star hotel. If I base a review on it being a 5 star it would be a pretty damning read. Realistically its a 3 Star which is how Thompsons rate it - if you set your expectations there, then you'll be ok.
The photo of the hotel makes it look like a small boutique hotel on the beach. Its actually a huge sprawling hotel with a busy main road and a parade of shops between it and the beach. Its situated in Kiotari which has a few hotels and shops and not a lot else. Its 15 mins drive into the excellent town of Lindos. I'd definitely recommend hiring a car to get around and see the island.
The hotel is generally clean and the rooms are spacious although quite old, spartan and in need of refurbishing. There is a fridge in the room they keep stocked with free beer and soft drinks every couple of days which is very useful. The staff are generally polite and hard working.
I paid for all inclusive and it was very reasonably priced. However the quality of the food and drinks were pretty poor. The restaurant was a typical self service feeding frenzy with largely tasteless food prepared to satisfy a wide variety of European guests tastes. The alcohol spirits were local, low grade (30% proof), low content versions that didnt really taste quite right. The wine and soft drinks were passable.
If I'd booked a 3 star hotel, I'd have been pretty pleased and would have known what to expect. However booking a 5 star just left me disappointed.
Lindos is well worth a day or two to explore
Go diving with the great guys at Lepia Dive in Lindos
Hire a car and drive round the island. The west coast is spectacular and unspoilt
Visit Prasonisi at the southern tip of the island to see all the amazing kite surfers (or take part!)
