About Italy

From the shores of Lake Como to the intricate detail of the Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy is a land of beauty. Whether you’re travelling to the heart of Venice or to the peak of the Dolomites, the sights you’ll discover on your journey will leave an impression that’s likely to last a lifetime.

With a history spanning ancient Rome to the renaissance, to call Italy a country with a rich heritage is a bit of an understatement. Everywhere you go in the country you’ll come across examples of how Italy’s vibrant culture has prospered and developed throughout time, from renaissance masterpieces in the Ufizzi gallery in Florence to the magnificent spires of Milan Cathedral. Of course let’s not forget the delicious food and Italian food doesn’t get any better. Regardless of whether you’re travelling for romance, with friends or with family, Italy will dazzle you with its cities and stagger you with its natural beauty. This beautiful country will not disappoint.

When To Go

Both late spring and early autumn will give you the most comfortable weather, when the colours in the country are at their brightest and the crowds in the city are easier to deal with. The peak summer season in August can get uncomfortably hot and incredibly busy, with most Italians on holiday during that period. If you travel in winter remember that many attractions will be closed, although this is less likely in the city.
