About Netherlands

For cosmopolitan cities and beautiful countryside you can’t go wrong with the Netherlands. This country is both forward thinking and deeply historical, with medieval towns resting comfortably beside modern cities. From the beautiful renaissance architecture of Utrecht and Delft, to the contemporary skyline of Rotterdam, the Netherlands is characterised by the beauty of its landscapes and the ceaseless ingenuity of its people.

Whether you’re strolling through the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam or admiring the 19 windmills at Kinderplein, you’ll be struck by how a country as small as the Netherlands has been able to achieve so much throughout history. Take in the bright colours of tulips and the characteristic smell of Edam cheese and whether you’re travelling for a city weekend in Amsterdam or on a family trip to Zwolle, you’ll be bowled over by the different delights on offer in the Netherlands.

Book With Us

With more than 2,000 hotels and apartments to choose from, we offer a fantastic selection of locations when it comes to the Netherlands. There’s everything from contemporary hotels in Groningen to authentic 18th Century houses in Amsterdam, and to make your journey even easier we can help arrange flights that suit you. If you need transfers from the airport or are looking into car rental, we can help with those too.

When To Go

Summers are the most likely time for good weather, although you’ll want to bring an umbrella as you never know when a sudden raincloud will appear. Spring is ideal for catching the tulips while cold winters will freeze the canals, meaning beautiful vistas and impromptu ice skating. Temperatures are similar to the UK, so remember to pack your jumpers as well as your t-shirts.

Where to Stay

One of the great things about the Netherlands is its size. As the country is small it means that everywhere is within one or two hours on the train. If you’re looking for culture or to party, a townhouse in Amsterdam is the best place to be. If you’re looking to take the family to see some history, then a spacious hotel in Delft or Utrecht will be ideal.
