Pros: service, beach location, pool, having some subtle entertainment during dinner, spa
Cons: check-in (a personal poor experience), beds (uncomfortable), weddings and conferences/functions, not much nearby, taxis costly, drinks expensive
Hotel is set in beautiful grounds on a quiet beach. Service was excellent. Ideal for a quiet laid back holiday. We stayed for 6 nights which was plenty long enough. Lovely treatments in the spa although the spa itself is a bit dated. Food is good but can become repetitive. If you only eat in the hotel you are definitely missing out and paying through the nose. Plenty of lovely food at very low cost (even factoring in the taxi fare) at local restaurants. Drinks very expensive for India (ie beer 425+ Rupees - out and about around 50-60 Rupees).
“ Top Tip: Jamie's in Colva for a steak. If you are game catch the bus into Margao and visit the indoor market (not the fish market near the bus station)! It cost R15 pp to the bus station and then R5 for a bus to the market (or grab a Tuk Tuk). That way you experience a bit of real India rather than watching it from a taxi (R1000 into town).

Overall hotel was excellent. Rooms were high quality, cleanliness superb and staff extremely welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was excellent.
The gardens and beach were superb. However the local authority imposes restrictions on the number of sun beds that the hotel are allowed to place on the beach. This contributes to a cramp feeling. However there were a large number of sun beds around the pools and towels were plentiful. Again the staff around the pools and at the beach were excellent.
The only downside to the hotel was the high cost of drinks and food which attract luxury taxes. As an example a beer was some five times more expensive than local shacks and restaurants.
“ Top Tip: The Pentagon Hotel which is approximately five minutes away from the hotel by taxi was excellent. Food, service and staff were all superb.

“ Top Tip: Explore the beach shacks for authentic dining - simly the best tandoori fish in the region!
