Great place to stay. Large well decorated rooms with a good size balcony. Beautiful gardens and several swimming pools to choose from. Enjoyed the entertainment although it was a little samey. I loved the food especially Jamaica corner. It's refreshing to stay in a chain hotel in Jamaica that takes pride in its own cuisine and actually serves it daily. Maybe this could be expanded from just one little corner. The Riu's biggest asset are their staff who were warm, welcoming and always ready to help.
My only gripe is that you should be able to get cocktails made with fresh fruit and not the pre made stuff that you have which is pretty awful as it's mostly slush. There is lots of fresh fruit at breakfast so why is it not available to the bar staff? The only fresh fruit they seem to have is banana otherwise everything else is out of a tin or box. I realise that costs and the season may come into play here but this is not a cheap place to stay and fruits like mangos and pineapples are abundant in Jamaica and not particularly expensive. Perhaps fresh fruit drinks can be available for part of the day if not throughout. If it wasn't for the cocktails this place would have got a 10 rather than a 9 however it is a wonderful place to stay and I would highly recommend it.

“ The staff very friendly and helpful the hotel and location were superb! I highly recommend this all inclusive hotel and my family and I will definately to be going their again.
“ Top Tip: This hotel is actually on the beach, so you couldn't get any nearer. There were 7 restaurants on location, therefore more than enough different food to choose from which was very good! Loved the buffet restaurant called St Anne's..this is a must! Also very to easy to go into Ocho Rios town to do your shopping. The hotel has it's own taxi rank where they will take you and bring you back at a time of your choice, the driver we had was very punctual and the price reasonable and most important felt safe. You are also able to organise trips to the local attractions. The prices are in USD's.
