These apartments have all the facilities of a modern home. The only draw back is the location it is a bit of a trek into the Old town, but there are buses on a regular basis and late at night there are plenty of taxis about 8 euros from the old town to the marina

although the orada was 4 star prices it was not 4 star facilities, we asked to be moved from our given apartment because it was very bare and lots of things were missing or broken. the second apartment was ok although still not deserving of a 4 star rating. the guest showers in the pool toilet area had no hot water. plenty of sunbeds but not enough parasols, only about ten in total, we had to buy our own and then struggled for a base to put it in (plenty of broken ones around though). no shade whatsoever around the pool. very quiet resort which is ok if thats what you want.
The view from our balcony was of a 6 lane main road (nice). At least a 25 minute walk to get to the old town and a bit of nightlife a lot of which is uphill. the marina is over the road from the orada but again very quiet with not a lot going on. All the boat trips and various excursions are very expensive with the average price being around 35-40 euros per person. the local super market is very very expensive an example of which is a basic sliced loaf costing 3.50 euros (78 cents in lidl or aldi). only problem with that is lidl and aldi are a 50 minute walk from the resort.
A lot of unfinished building work in the area of the resort, not very pretty and seem to be abandoned.
nothing to do with the hotel but we had a 2 hour delayed flight going home ( not happy about that).
the weather was fantastic and we did overall enjoy ourselves but would not stay in the area again.
Top Tip: stay in a hotel nearer Albufeira old town or nearer the strip to the east of the old town if
you want things to do in the evening

Be careful with very young children. Even though we specified needing a cot for an infant the apartment was absolutely littered with very dangerous balconies, both inside and outside, with good 15 foot drops onto concrete. We had to request a change of apartment to a ground floor only. Both 2 bed apartments were large with either two or three bathrooms.

The pools are showing signs of age with lots of missing and broken tiles and gaps in the floor surface. Also as reported by others, many of the sunbeds are looking very worn with broken mechanisms.

The resort itself is very quiet and peaceful, very pretty and clean. The walk to the 'square' in the old town, along the lovely coastal path is approx. 25 minutes at normal pace (with a pushchair).
Top Tip: A top quality Indian restaurant, called Indian Ocean on walk from apartments to old town. Also lovely views from bar called Iguana's, on same stretch of path as Indian Ocean.
