A more than simply adequate three star hotel on the other side of the road from the beach. The staff were helpful, the room was modern, clean and comfortable, the food was adequate if unimaginative after five days (I was on all-inclusive).
I was there for those five days in February and unless you wanted to line-dance with the Spanish pensioners in the only bar, you had to get out of an evening. I realise it was still the depths of winter as far as the locals were concerned but, coming to Spring from colder shores, tables and chairs to sit outside would have been nice. No doubt that's provided a little later in the season but if, like me, you're a smoker, there was nowhere to go except stand outside the front door with the other bad boys and girls!
Very much three star with no pretensions, they obviously do a roaring trade with the older Spanish bus tour generation over the off-season. If this isn't to your taste or you have no Spanish, your enjoyment may be curtailed.

Very pleasant service and excellent food. Rooms are functional with no frills of any kind but safekey and hairdryers etc available against a deposit.
Top Tip: Seafront at Mojacar Playa has been very well made with walkways, flowers and trees, and a very clean and neat appearance. Excellent in all respects.

We were moved from our original choice (where we have stayed before) by you as you said there was an outbreak of legionaires disease which was untrue, as we checked on our arrival. The hotel we were allocated was reasonable in itself but was full of retired Spanish people (we were the only english there) which made it very uncomfortable for us especialy at mealtimes when there was a bit of pushing and shoving going on (we ate out on two of the four nights).
The hotel we where moved from were very annoyed that this rumour was circulated and so were we as it spoilt our stay.
