The hotel is only a few years old, ideally situated by the beach and the main access road to Punta Umbria ( a 20 minute walk ). The hotel has a good size carpark @ 10 Euro/day although there is free parking on the streets around the hotel. The reception staff were all very helpful with information about the local area and advice on trips to Serville. The room was a good size, although we didn't have a balcony, the air/con was efficient and the room was cleaned daily. The room also had a small unstocked minibar and a room safe @ 4 Euro/day which seemed quite expensive. The breakfast catered for all tastes with a varied selection and of a good standard. The pool was a reasonable size with a lifeguard in attendance and sufficient sun loungers and shaded seating for everyone. Fresh pool towels were available daily with a refundable deposite of 10 Euro. We didn't stay in the hotel at night, so we cant comment on the entertainment. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but the charges for carparking and room safe seemed expensive .
Top Tip: The resort is mainly for Spanish visitors, so there are not manly English speaking bars or restaurants. There is a new Shopping Mall close by, on the otherside of the next hotel The Beach Resort. A small number of bars, shops and food outlets. Also further on opposite the Beach resort there are a couple of nice local cafe style bars. At the end of the road into Punta Umbria on the right the Old Tavern is a good bar also selling snacks and across the way the restaurant in Hotel Ayermonte is good value. Many of the beach side bars were also good value.

The food was generally very good, with the exception of breakfast, which was rather average. Service throughout the hotel - reception, bar, restaurant, could be variable. Maintenance standards were poor. Our first room had a broken patio door lock, half inch gaps in the floor grout, and air conditioning that didn't. None of these problems were resolved, despite repeated requests. The maintenance man who came to fix the air con. measured the output temperature at 25 degrees. We had to ask for the sheets to be changed after a week, expecting them to be changed 'tomorrow'. I think I would not endorse its four star award. The hotel situation was very good, with a short wooden walkway to the beach, but there are few entertainments within walking distance.
Top Tip: We enjoyed the 'Canoa' boat/ferry to Huelva from the main town, but it only runs July and August we were told. The Huelva terminus is a short walk from the city.
The beach is huge, miles in both directions, gently sloping, and safe.

Air con wasn't that cold on the room. Buffet restaurant had amazing selection of food. Good for families. Our son really enjoyed the hotel entertainment.
Top Tip: Punta Umbria central is a bustling little town centre - very lively at night - lots of little shops, bars and restaurants all open late. All locals - not full of English tourists. Only 1 5 minute drive from the hotel. Make sure you pay to park on the street - don't get a 90 euro fine like me !
