“ Hotel and staff were excellent. Superb breakfasts. New Japanese restaurant absolutely superb. Shortage of bar facilities due to almost ended renovations.
“ Top Tip: The hotel was special.

The Hotel was going through a refurbishment program, which meant 2 swimming pools were not available to guests. During our stay the Hotel had two functions which took over all the public areas, two nights on the trot. Guests we're disregarded, and had no service . Generally all staff were customer friendly, however service in the bar area was slow and the young girls, needed staff training in all aspects of bar work and service, I myself have 2 Hotels and in my opinion the Hotel could increase it's nightly takings by 20% with quicker and efficient service.
All tv programs are Spanish or German, only English programs are 24 hour News programs.
When you are paying £260 per night for a 5 star Hotel this is unacceptable. So is no ironing boards or irons facilities. What happened to a hospitality tray even 2 star hotels in Britain have these. Why are no English newspapers provided in the Breakfast room when Spanish are.
Most guests were British during our stay.
“ Top Tip: Banana tree as value for money, shows top sky football matches

Lovely spotlessly clean hotel. The staff were all wonderful and could not do enough for you. The pool attendant organised your sun-beds for you, provided towels, mattresses and parasols to your order. There was a waiter service poolside which was great too. The buffet breakfast was extensive and had lots of choice, make sure they thoroughly cook your eggs for you though. The beds were comfortable and huge!! The bathroom was quite small and your knees touched the bidet when you sat on the toilet, and the bath had a few chips in the enamel which had been touched up with paint, but that in no way spoiled our stay at this wonderful hotel. Room towels were changed twice a day.
If you like a tea or coffee in the morning take a travel kettle etc. with you as there are no tea making facilities in the rooms.
The main strip and Orange Square were both about a 20 to 30 minute walk away, but a cab there or back ranged from 6 to 8 euros, so in the heat it was well worth getting a cab. Orange Square was packed with restaurants. Puerto Banus was roughly a 10 minute cab ride away and cost about 11 euros, but the Marina there was well worth a visit. Just walk out of the front entrance of the hotel and the porter there would phone for a taxi for you, the taxi's arrived within minutes.
On the main road opposite the hotel there was a Burger King and supermarket. The hotel bar usually had someone playing the piano and singing in the evening, and there was a small dance area. A really great hotel and we would not hesitate to go back there.
“ Top Tip: The restaurant La Sala in Puerto Banus is well worth a visit. The food and choice is very good. The night we went they had a man playing a piano and singing, and he had the whole place up dancing!! An excellent evening. This restaurant gets very busy though and you need to book in advance.
