The rooms were basic but clean. If you are self-catering and like a coffee/tea in the room, buy a cheap kettle as it takes an age to heat up on the hob. The beds were changed every four days and towels every two. The staff were very helpful. Close to The Marina in Benalmadena. Plenty of Irish Pubs near the apartments, We were at Pat Murphy's quite a bit. Used the restaurant for breakfast. Only €7.50 for buffet style, eat as much as you want. Be early as food not too warm later on. Would use again if going to the area.
Top Tip: Plenty of Irish Pubs near the apartments. We were at Pat Murphy's quite a bit. Tara and John made us very welcome. Karaoke bars close to apartments. Only a ten minute walk to The Marina.

This was our second stay at Sol Timor and was not disappointed, We arrived quite late at the hotel and as requested the staff had organised for some food to be made available, for this we were very grateful having travelled for some 8 hours. The room we requested facing the Marina was made available to us, it was a sunny and private balcony and would request this same room when we stay again. The room was clean although there was a pungent smell in the apartment which i presume might have been from the drains. The food in the hotel was excellent, plenty of choice and well cooked although it would have been better had the food been hotter. The staff both at reception and in the restaurant were very polite, friendly and accommodating to our wishes. The lifts were a bit of a nuisance, didn't appear to be in sync to each other, at one point a chair had been left in one of the lifts by the maintenance men and until it was removed the lifts would not go up or down. Apart from this there were no complaints and look forward to visiting the hotel again. Well done.

Can't really fault the Sol Timor. Yes people have said it's a little dated but for the price you pay it is exceptional value. The rooms are immaculately clean as are the public areas and grounds and also found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful. As we stayed a little out of season it was great to be able to use the facilities in the restaurant with breakfast being 7.50 euro and both lunch and dinner being 12.50 euro. As it was buffet style there was plenty of choice and it was of good quality. The hotel also has Happy Hour in the bar between 5 and 6pm. We have visited the area many times and stayed closer to La Carihuela but for value for money will definitely use the Sol Timor again.
Top Tip: Rather than heading for the Marina area wander down the prom to La Carihuela area where the shops and restaurants tens to be a little cheaper and offer great value for money.
