About Lanzarote

This dreamy island is home to hundreds of beautiful sandy beaches and surrounded by crystal clear water. An island with a difference, Lanzarote is made up of around 300 volcanic cones. A visit to see the strange and wonderful lava fields is a must when visiting this island. Buggy rides, pony treks, cycle rides and hiking are all great ways to admire Lanzarote’s unique landscape. The capital Arrecife, is named after the many beautiful reefs that line the shores and there are plenty of opportunities to go snorkelling and explore all its little coves.

Lanzarote is renowned for having a great nightlife, so head over to Puerto del Carmen or Playa Blanca to experience the vibrant party scene. Puerto del Carmen is also a hub of sporting activity with many events held there all year round. For families, Costa Teguise offers a golf course, aquarium and aquapark.

Where to Stay

There are three main resorts in Lanzarote. Puerto del Carmen is best known for its nightlife but it also holds the prestigious Ironman Lanzarote competition once a year. For diving enthusiasts, Costa Teguise has some great dives and is the gateway to the north of the island. It’s also an ideal spot for families. For less populated beaches, Playa Blanca in the south is stretched along the beautiful coastline.
