This is a very nice hotel in a beautiful place. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, comfortable place, and activities to join in if you like.
What would have improved my enjoyment of it would have been hotter 'hot' food and hot plates for the hot dishes in the restaurant.
The Spa there is good though, and at a very reasonable price as a guest
Top Tip: Puerto Calero is a lovely little place well worth visiting. We have stayed at both of the hotels that are there and it's difficult to choose between them

Loved this hotel for its quietness, its spaciousness and the welcome of the staff. Puerto Calero is a super location and the Costa Calero ideal for those who are not looking for wild entertainment. It is,however, well situated for various activities without needing transport - being on the harbour there are boat and submarine trips handy. The walk to the harbour is short but quite steep and there are shops and nice restaurants overlooking the harbour. Sadly the weather was not so good for our stay and there is no heating so the hotel rooms are a bit chilly, you can ask for extra blankets. Of the four pools one is heated to 23-25C but temperature did vary and we couldn't always pluck up the courage to go in, although it was a nice pool. The others are 20-21C. The restaurant is nicely done for a buffet style, plenty of waiting staff and generally a good choice. I found there to be fewer queues than in other buffet restaurants and the hotel was fully booked when we went. Overall an experience to be repeated. The higher rooms have better views but long walks to the pools.

Visted 2nd week in Feb.with wife & three friends.
This hotel was recommended to us and it didn't disappoint!! It is fairly new and it is truly lovely. The hotel grounds are immaculate with all types of palms and cactus all around. The sun beds are acceptable with nice arm rests but a mattress would have made them really comfortable! But much more importantly the beds were spaced out and you weren't lying inches from a complete stranger!! There are many "alcoves" spread all around the hotel grounds, some with three beds, some with four some with five and so on and some of them were surrounded with these lovely palms or other large plants. There were of course beds surrounding the swimming pools naturally, so all in all you had a good choice. One heated pool (lovely) and three other large pools (not heated) water just a bit cold at this time of the year (Feb)!! A very good spa with lovely warm water and some REALLY powerful jets of water for that aching back!!!! Plenty of jacuzzis with a lovely steam room and also a sauna. One free visit per week was very acceptable and gave you a taste for it.
There are numerous tables and very comfortable chairs spread throughout this hotel and of a high quality.
Food and restaurants were exceptional. Whilst this was buffet service the food was first class and of a very high quality. Also extremely varied. Always a massive choice and far too much here to list. Some fabulous seafood in particular prawns and mussells. I challenge anybody not to have put some weight on!!!!! Also the wine, Rioja just great and free!!! Some bottles were better than others and some were really good. Beer was also just as acceptable.
Drinks again very good, lovely G&T's with bottles of tonic not out of a tap!! One tip >>>>>slip the bar waiter a few Euros at the start of your holiday, you'll be suprised how quick you get served etc etc
Staff (all) great >>>>always a smile, pleasant and some banter!!
Entertainment >>> just excellent. Different act each night some a little better than others but no embarrassing acts made up of hotel staff. One act in particular, Guitar Legends, one vocalist and a very very good lead guitarist, brillant dont miss it!!!!
Rooms large and airy with comfortable beds. Bathroom (with bidet) good, shower a little dated (over bath) but with oodles of hot water. On fourth floor with nice view of the ocean but balcony could have been a little larger i.e.space for a sun bed not just table and chairs. (Some rooms did have this facility)
All in all, I have no complaints at all about this lovely hotel. Having discussed it with our friends, we feel this hotel is the very best that we 've ever stayed in whilst coming to "the Canaries" and that is for some fifteen years.
Recommendation>>>>most certainly and will go back without doubt.
Top Tip: The Harbour at the bottom of the hill is well worth a visit >>>>>plenty of bars/restaurants/cafes and some magnificent yatchs and boats to admire. Some shops for the ladies to browse around (so my wife tells me!!!) Take plenty of bread to feed the hugh grey mullet in the harbour !!!!
