“ Some of the rooms are not up to the standard you would expect, however it was easy to request a change as staff were very helpful in this matter. Food and accommodation coupled with friendly staff, location to old port and facilities made this a good choice of hotel.7.6 Very Good

“ The apartments and the food were good and they are in a good area near the harbour ,however if you go take your valuables with you at all times their is a Serious Security problem at this hotel/apartment, while we were their for one week on the 20th of Feb 2014 there was 6 apartments broken into and backpacks, handbag's and money was stolen .
“ Top Tip: Their is a lovely walk from the apartments to Puerto Calera which is approximately 40min walk along the coastal path and you can get a water taxi back .

“ Some of the rooms are not up to the standard you would expect, however it was easy to request a change as staff were very helpful in this matter. Food and accommodation coupled with friendly staff, location to old port and facilities made this a good choice of hotel.
“ Top Tip: The Chalana restaurant nearby offers great food and live Canaries music. Great night out.

“ This hotel is not suitable for children because there is nothing there for them to do. It is not suitable for young people because there is no entertainment or suitable music. It is not suitable for older people because of all the steps and hills. The restaurant is clean and the staff helpful, but the food selection is poor with little or no options for children. The apartments are Ok but are in need of an update. I am sorry to give such a bad revue because the staff were really nice but I am trying to tell it as it is.
“ Top Tip: Nice little sports bar just outside the hotel where you could put a bet on the horse racing if that was your thing. Lovely restaurants down at the Old town harbour just a short walk away.

The apartments are dated with broken or missing furniture, they are not clean neither are they cleaned on a daily basis you might get your bed made not changed and a squirt of air freshener if your lucky, the sofa bed was torn and dirty it was also broken as when you sat on it you would get a lump of wood/metal sticking in your back, the staff are unhelpful we asked if we could move rooms and we were told no. Our bed linen had stains on it and this was not changed the whole week we were there neither were the towels. The floors were dirty. All round the bath and the sink in the bathroom the silicone was filled with scum, the toilet was dirty and the bath had previously been painted obviously some time ago as the paint was now peeling of (this is inside the bath)
The pool area there are sun beds but on a nice day if you don't get there early enough they are cover in towels, it states that reserving sun beds will not be tolerated, the life guard was not there every day. The pool well i am 5ft 4 before i had even stepped off the bottom step the water was up to my neck, there are no rails around the pool its either swim to the other side or drown, the depths are 1m 5 and 1m 7.
The pool bar was expensive 7 euros for two large beers, the views were good if you looked in the right direction, the area that this apartment block is situated in is very run down, to the left you have a big mound dirt (looks like something was going to be built there, in front of the hotel there are all empty shops bar one which is a small restaurant. The road running behind the hotel can be very noisy especially as it is a stop for transfer coaches and 4.30 in the morning and as the windows do not shut correctly your sleep can be very limited.
“ Top Tip: Do not use the supermercado which is a few steps from the hotel, venture upto the shops behind the hotel keep walking up and you will come to SuperDino which is very cheap,

The location of Belle Vue Aquarius Apartments is good - handy for the harbour area and close to many restaurants. The staff are very pleasant and very helpful. The apartment we were allocated (505) was dated and in need of decoration (we had asked for a refurbished one when we booked - on the advice of a friend who had stayed there before us but we weren't lucky). On arrival we found that the ceiling fan in the bedroom and one of the kitchen lights didn't work. We told Reception about these and Peter was very helpful and efficient - both were fixed within 2 days. BUT we had two power cuts in the subsequent days and this meant that we did not have any hot water or cooking facilities during those periods.
The microwave oven was fixed to wall brackets - but wasn't level so it couldn't be used with any liquids - the plug only just reached the power socket (which also had to power the kettle and toaster).
There was never enough hot water for two people to have showers one after the other - we had to wait half an hour for the water to heat up again - a bath was out of the question - there wasn't enough hot water to quarter fill the bath.
The sheets were not changed mid week despite it being quite warm.
The bedroom window was draughty and made a whistling noise most of the night because of the constant windy weather - the window was directly above the bed headboard.
The beds were old and uncomfortable and the matresses were old and torn.
There was no noise insulation, we could hear other apartments and I assume they could hear us.
There are no lifts and lots of stairs so this is not the place for the elderly or disabled.
