“ We went self catering and as a vegetarian I would recommend this choice. The food inside the hotel is not always labelled and simple veg like peas and carrots had tuna in it. On a plus side the hotel staff are all happy and friendly, the rooms are basic but clean. A very good 3 star hotel.8.6 Excellent

“ Quiet and nicely laid out. Well-tended gardens.

“ Hotel is located at a high point in the Old Town, do not a suitable location for the elderly. Yhere is a bus terminal and taxi rank close by though. A few bars and restaurants close by, but not as good as in the town. We were located across the road from the main Hotel complex, which we were not aware existed when booking. There is a pool at this side, but no bar or any other facilities whatsoever. There is a tunnel that links he two complexes that goes under the main road. Accommodation is basic, and you have to pay extra for use of the TV (3 euros/day). Wifi is 23 euro for the week a safe is 2.50 euros per day. We had a unit that was always in the shade, and in Frb was cold all the te, but no heating available in the room. If you don't like cats , stay away. There are 3 or so on site that come to your door begging for food every day! I wouldn't rush back here to be honest.

“ Top Tip: The hyper Dino just down from the purple turtle ( out of the main doors, turn right) is the cheapest supermarket we found. There is a Spar (out of the pool exit and follow the hill down) it's a little bit nearer but more expensive.

There is a 10 minute walk down to the harbour area which has lots of bars, restaurants, and add another 10 minutes to get to the main Puerto del Carmen area with lots of bars, restaurants for all tastes. We enjoyed the walk back up the hill, I have seen negative comments about that, but a taxi is 3 euros back up the hill, or if you enjoy a brisk walk, as we do, it's a good for those leg muscles. We are already looking to book again for next year.
“ Top Tip: La Magnolia is an excellent restaurant to visit which is at the bottom of the hill, turn left, it's the first one you come to. Food is always very good and the owners and their staff are excellent hosts.
