Great holiday and really nice hotel. Although a bit dated it was kept really clean and everyday our room cleaned with fresh towels etc if needed. The staff were really friendly and the location is great as right on the beach. This hotel has all inclusive really well managed, great food as and when you need. I don't think there was actually a time when you couldn't get food or a drink from either the beach cafe or the restaurant. We're foodies and cook our own and were really impressed with the buffet as it had everything. There is a burger bar, a Chinese restaurant and an Italian that we didn't use as happy with the choice at the main restaurant. Evening entertainment good with a mini disco for kids early on followed by various acts which were all pretty good. We normally go to small campsites in quiet locations so were a bit nervous but were pleasantly surprised. Downside only was the weather, very windy so meant it was quite cold.. Just pack some warm stuff and you'll be fine. The pool was warm-ish which was good just freezing when you got out !! Travel Republic great people to book with and the lady who helped me was brilliant . Wish I could remember her name so that I could say thank you :)
Top Tip: The old town at playa del Carmen worth a visit

Decent room & food (if a bit bland).

The sparrows help themselves to the food from the buffet in the "pool bar" which isn't very hygienic.

Literally 100m from the flightpath of the planes flying in to the airport- expect to be woken up about 7am when they start landing (if the sparrows don't get you first).

Most of the staff were helpful, & one or two were excellent. Unfortunately one very rude & unhelpful barman spoiled it, & the management didn't seem at all willing to follow up on our complaint.

Not that great a selection of food for vegetarians, but the chef will cook something for them if given a few hours' notice (but it won't necessarily be what you asked for, or were expecting). Fish eaters will do OK.

Only saw one part of one "entertainment", but it was dreadful.
Top Tip: Take earplugs, or get used to waking up early!

Eat lunch in the indoor restaurant, unless you like sharing with the local birdlife.

Try to get a room on the top level for the view.

Quite a nice hotel but they really do need a dedicated Checkout desk!

I had to wait more tha 15 minutes while the 2 receptionists read out volume one of "War & Peace" to only about six new arrivals.
It was time I could ill-afford to waste and made me quie angry.

Having just had a wonderful holiday in lanzarote it was made even better by our return to the Beatrix. We had an initial problem with our room which was dealt with promptly and to our expectations. The staff are very friendly and always attentive. The variety and quality of the food is very good with chefs cooking to order. The entertainment could have been better some nights but the hotel entertainment team worked very hard. As there is some refurb work being done this can only enhance the existing rooms. We look forward to our return.
Top Tip: The Comercial Centre located about 300metres along a flat promenade has a very good variety of shops and bars, some of which are open late late, and exellent restruants.

OK generaly ,we were not aware about the inclusive offer of drinks with dinner and we had an embarassing moment at the table which could have been explained better earlier. Otherwise the rest was ok
Top Tip: Yes good pubs but quite a way from the old town
