Arrived back yesterday Thurs 31 Oct 13.
Tuesday afternoon, around 4:30 we were hit by freak weather, a cyclone, which flooded the reception area, throu to the 1st Floor and Restaurant/Bar area. Outside the impact was devastating. Trees uprooted, pools vanished under debris and the beach washed away. BUT ....
Staff were fantastic rallying around to ensure we all got a meal and the evening entertainment and bar was moved to the opposite hotel-2mins walk. The inside of the
hotel was quickly put back to normal.
Outside the men worked like trojans. How they completed the amount of work they did in such a short period of time was indeed testiment to their teamwork and dedication. Thank you to all the staff. You were marvellous.
And the hotel .... we really did enjoy our time there before the storm struck. Staff were great. Food -lots of choice. We were a party of three women sharing a room and there was lots of space and places to store our belongings. We would definately return.

On arrival I was told that I was not staying at the Marina Skorpios Hotel but at the Marina Corfu Hotel. It was absolutely clear that this decision was made before the hotel was even advertised let alone booked. Many others in the Marina Corfu Hotel were in the same situation - they were told they had to stay at the Marina Corfu but had booked the Marina Skorpios. One young couple had even booked a double room with sea view but were told on arrival that such rooms didn't exist, they only had twin rooms with sea view. The Marina Hotel group is deliberately giving misleading advertising and arranging bookings which are not true to what people want to book, to catch customers who might have booked elsewhere if they really knew what they were booking. Also false was the advertised 'adult pool'. There is no pool for adults, only pools which are full of children all day long playing with inflatables and water pistols etc. I would never book with this hotel group again, I don't believe their marketing tactics are actually legal.
Top Tip: Hire a bike and cycle to Cala Sa Nau, peaceful unspoit beach.

Until the hurricane that flooded the bottom 3 floors, leaving us pushing water down a staircase with brooms/squeegees and anything else we could find for 2 hours, destroyed the beach, pool and all external areas, and made us pack in the dark (power had gone down) to change rooms at 9pm it was a lovely hotel! The staff were brilliant, the food was good (yes, dinner was slightly late due to having no kitchen but they still managed to put on an evening meal, despite half of the dining room being too damaged to use) Every member of staff at this hotel - it was the Corfu, not the Skorpios, was brilliant, hard working and helped make our holiday great from start to finish. Before the damage it was simple, basic accomodation (I've no doubt it will be restored already judging by the speed at which they managed to clear up) but clean and well maintained. The food was above average for the star rating, varied and plentiful, the location was perfect to do as much or as little as you wanted and the standard entertainment programme was led by excellent staff.
Top Tip: Mondrago beach / National Park and the Caves at Porto Cristo are well worth a visit. The bus service is good - even at the end of October - and it's possible to visit most of the island by public bus quite cheaply and easily.

We actually stayed in the Marina Corfu across the way from the Marina Skorpios . The hotel was very clean and all the staff were friendly and helpfull. The rooms were of good quality, were cleaned every day and supplied with fresh towels. The hotel is right on the beach with three swimming pools and plenty of sun loungers . The food is of good quality and there's always something for everyone. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Top Tip: The hotels is very near to the small town of Cala Egos which has a areay of shops bars and restaurants. There's a taxi rank very near the hotel and the fare is only €5-6 to Cala D Or which is lovely. There's also a good bus service and a road train every hour or so to Cala D Or.
