“ The hotel complex is on top of a hill with views of the sea and mountains on 3 of 4 sides. I found Santa Ponsa (in February) dull and uninspiring, but this hotel is probably in just about the best location, though it is quite a walk downhill and down steps to the beach.8.5 Excellent

“ The apartment was pleasantly furnished and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the apartment was rather under equipped. There was no drying rack or line. Whilst I wasn't expecting a microwave, there wasn't even a kettle.9.0 Magnificent

“ Not very good for families with buggies as access to hotel and rooms requires a strap hill and plenty of steps. Also to get down to town there is either 172 steps to go down or a long walk down hill and vice versa. Hotel its self is very nice and rooms really nice. Food was ok and staff was very friendly.

Nice, quiet hotel with polite, friendly staff. However, one bed was not changed from the previous guests when we got our room. Despite repeatedly pointing this out, had to ask for sheets and change the bed myself.
Food was varied and nice but tended to run out quickly despite the hotel not being particularly full.
Entertainment was nice and both adults and children were actively encouraged to participate.
All in all, a decent hotel.
“ Top Tip: Take a walk up the mountain to the broken down forts. Well worth it.

I had a “studio” which turned out to be an apartment with 2 rooms including kitchen/diner, with a partial sea view and sunny balcony. The rooms are on a terrace, which makes you feel quite self-contained, though there wouldn’t be much shade in the hotter months. The buildings have been designed to fit in with the local landscape and environment, unlike some of the white concrete monstrosities lower down the hill, but the rooms are looking a bit tired and attempts to update have meant that for instance in the bathroom the large washbasin didn’t allow the door to fully open and you had a job to reach the light switch! The restaurant has a nice ambience high up in the complex with great views, and the buffet breakfasts and evening meals were tasty and had plenty of choice, with a bias towards German and English style food but plenty of local ingredients. I went for half board, which is just as well because the only other restaurant I saw open in the town was Burger King!
“ Top Tip: I recommend car hire if you want to do what I did and explore the island, which has some magnificent mountain and clifftop walks, and beautiful villages and small towns. Bus travel is good, however, and cheap.

The apartment was pleasantly furnished and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the apartment was rather under equipped. There was no drying rack or line. Whilst I wasn't expecting a microwave, there wasn't even a kettle. 3 pans were provided but no cooking cutlery.
The restaurant had lovely views and a pleasant outdoor terrace. The breakfasts were excellent with a very wide choice of food but there was limited choice of main course at evening meals.
