“ We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, particularly our Jet 2 flight which was excellent. The hotel was spotlessly clean and there were plenty of loungers. It was unfortunate that the roof top pool was being repaired and there was a bit of noise, but these things cannot be helped.9.0 Magnificent

Competitive rates compared with 5 star promenade hotels e.g Rui Palace. Staff polite and efficient.
Elderly guests will find the return journey from the Promenade includes 2 hills.Catering system needs to be overhauled- some evening sessions chaotic. Food sometimes only a little above canteen standard, although a wide choice- perhaps too much choice..
Gym does not open until 10.00 a.m. This is ludicrous- most guests will want to exercise before breakfast. Most 4/5 star hotels with gyms open at 7.a.m. or 7.30 a.m.
The Brasserie on the Prom for lunch. La Hacienda and the restaurant by El Mirador shopping mall v. good.
Plaza El Duque Shopping Mall has mainly designer label brands and is more expensive than Europe. £230 for a T-shirt and £500 up for women's shoes-window shop only !!

“ In summary: This is a very good, efficient and well run hotel. ALL staff were curteous and helpful at all times although the hotel is a little tired in places and could do with a bit of a face-lift. Locations of the hotel was good with access to most areas. First impressions of this hotel did not live up to expectations as the reception area is being repaired which made the large imposing area rather dark. However, the reception staff were very welcoming and even laid on a glass of Cava on arrival. Check-in was very quick and efficient, we were soon shown to our room which did meet expectations albeit a little dated. The restaurant was very big and busy, this took time to get used to and not for the feint hearted as the self service layout caused a lot of confusion. The food though was very good, varied and plentiful. We we half board basis and felt no need to look elsewhere for our meals. The work to the reception also affected the swimming pool area which is directly above. It did not appeal to us to sit by a pool that was being repaired and so we did not. This was disappointing, however there is a roof pool and sun bathing area which we did use. It is worth noting that the whole hotel was exceptionally clean at all times, which is quite impressive considering the amount of people staying. All things considered we would definitely recommend this hotel
“ Top Tip: Del Duque beach and resort are lovely with a golden sand beach and restaurants

The staff (particularly the entertainment staff) were extremely friendly, helpful and good fun.
Although the hotel was high quality, it needs a little bit of money spending on it - there was quite a lot of peeling paint, cracks in walls and damp patches both inside and outside of the hotel. In addition to this, the main large pool was being refurbished during our stay, which was disappointing, although there were other pools available.
The pool towels were also a little tired and worn.
The food was really lovely, and there was a large selection to choose from. The La Laja restaurant was particularly good - I would recommend anyone and everyone to try it at least once. We ate there numerous times and each time we were extremely pleased with both the service and the quality of the food.
“ Top Tip: We definitely recommend the Siam Water Park - great fun (and challenging) rides for all of the family.

“ Fifth visit to this hotel. Staff and cleanliness excellent. Good facilities. On the minus side: English language TV channels mostly unavailable for whole week; breakfast coffee and diluted milk remain poor; some refurbishment needed, eg exterior paintwork and bathroom fittings. Otherwise, another very enjoyable stay in a hotel that I will almost certainly visit again in the future.
“ Top Tip: A 30 minute walk or the number 416 bus to La Caleta for some really good fish restaurants right on the harbour wall.

“ Not quite 5* in terms of quality but OK. Large hotel and not easy to get around. "Heated" pool not properly heated. Staff friendly. Charging for safe and for having a kettle in the room perhaps a little unusual for a 5* hotel.
“ Top Tip: Not really
