the hotel was good, the pool was great, but the room we were allocated could have been better. we was allocated room number 10V which was on the bottom and right around the back of the hotel, now i could understand if this was the only room available but it wasn't, during our stay there was numerous other rooms that were empty and closer to the pool. the room itself didn't have a working telephone, the fridge door was filthy, the toilet door handle nearly came off at one point until i tightened it with my fingertips, the shower leaked that bad it came out onto the hallway, the handle on the the bedroom wardrobes fell off and the surround of the light in the bedroom fell off as well. we were a family of three and a friend and we had been in the room for three days before it was cleaned and fresh towels given, and even then i had to go and find a cleaner myself and ask, the bin also had three days worth of rubbish in it. literally next door to our room only separated by a fence was a cafe, a chicken shop and a bakery, these did not close until around three in the morning, and they then reopened again at around seven in the morning. they would be people screaming and shouting after being out on the town, and then when they were finally closing the staff was not very quiet at all, banging about, oh there was also the main road which again was only separated by a fence, deliveries being made first thing in the morning. now this normally wouldn't bother me all that much as people do need to go about their day, but when you are sleeping on a settee it makes all the difference. all around the hotel are gates to get out of, but you couldn't get back in again, you had to walk all the way around to the front, now i know this is good for security. the doors had a card reader on them, so i went to reception and asked about this, i was told that yes there are cards but all of these are currently out at the moment. i had to get one from a couple who were going home, and even then the card only worked in the door to the beach to my knowledge. these cards should be issued to all guests when they receive their keys.
there was no entertainment for adults at all during our stay, we had to go and find the entertainment at other places. there was a lot of maintenance going off during our stay also, staff painting walls, replacing broken floor tiles, concreting, plastering and digging.
now dont get me wrong we enjoyed our holiday and the hotel was ok, but it could have been a lot better. no free wi fi either, there was a charge when everywhere else it was free.
i would probably go back to this hotel as it was situated in a fantastic location, but if we do go back it needs to improve with all the other points i have mentioned.

Whilst the staff were really good, the hotel is very dated and in need of a full refurbishment. We were really disappointed with our room.

We had booked a 2-bedroomed apartment. It was basic, however it was spotless and cleaned frequently, but would have benefitted from air conditioning. On arrival we were allocated an apartment on the 1st floor directly above a cafe which was open until the early hours of the morning. We immediately asked to be moved but we're told we would have to wait until the following morning. After an almost sleepless night (the cafe closed around 3am but refuse was collected outside our apartment shortly after 6am), we returned to reception and were offered a choice of 2 apartments. The one we chose was on the 3rd floor and although faced onto the main road & shops, was better and surprisingly was reasonably quiet. From this point our stay was much better. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the pool area was ideal with plenty of sunbeds, no early morning rush! All in all, it was an enjoyable stay.
Top Tip: The Cafe Ole, ironically the one beneath our 1st apartment, was really good with authentic Spanish tapas, and the staff were kind and welcoming. Also the Surfers Bar, along the side lane was also really good, again, staff friendly and served excellent food.
