“ I went to Playa La Arena as a single 50 something female in Feb 2014. I felt very very safe and well looked after here. The rooms are big enough with all the facilities you could expect from a 4* hotel - safety deposit, hairdryer, powerful shower, shower gel/shampoo provided, fridge TV (no english channels though) and comfortable bed. Hotel has free WiFi in reception area. I was able to skype a friend back in UK. Food is good and most people will find it easy to find things to eat which they like. If you were here for a few weeks it would probably become a bit samey. Vegetables are sadly lacking and the ones that were served were not cooked well (don't bother with the sprouts-like rock) Otherwise I ate very well indeed at all meals. Wine was OK although I mostly had the Cava which was a little sweet but nice all the same. Entertainment in the evening left a lot to be desired but Piano bar is very nice. Two pools one heated the other colder both good. The hotel overall is a little dated now with some threadbare carpets but is very clean the reception area is stunning. I have been here before and would come again in the future. Young adults wanting a bit of life would probably find it too quiet. Personally I enjoyed my week here. Animation team mainly cater for French visitors and spoke very little english. Overall a very good hotel,
“ Top Tip: Nice small beach nearby but didnt go in the sea as hotel had all I could wish for. resort area generally is quite hilly but has a few restaurants and bars. I went all inclusive so cannot comment on prices or quality. There is a good bus service just outside the Hotel for visits to either Los Christianos, Americana or the other direction to Los Gigantes.

Lovely friendly hotel reps were French with some German tourists. Some English families. Pool area excellent for families
Sheltered with view of mountain on one side and black beach on other.
We were lucky to have very good weather for time of year (Feb 2014) Restaurant was sometimes very busy so had to wait for a table on occasions. Food was good although our family found chicken nuggets poor quality and lack of plain chicken dishes. Waiting staff were helpful and efficient. Entertainment at hotel was much the same as other places we
Have stayed in some to our taste and some not. There were bars and shops nearby but not as lively as other resorts.
We used an excellent local bus to get to a water park. The hotel travel agent arranged a trip to mountain for us!
Early start took us to other hotels to pick up and it was a long time on the coach before we got there.
