Very pleasant 4 star hotel. Everything worked, lovely dining room for breakfast, carpets fraying in places.

The Hotel is centrally placed , ask for the park view as the other two sides front onto busy roads. The staff and food was excellent, but the decor in both the hotel public areas, and the bedroom was tired.
Top Tip: The excellent central location meant that everything was easily accessible , all the university colleges, the museums, shopping and restaurants were within a few minutes walk.

We have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions. On this visit we were charged £16 per night for car parking which has not been the case when booking in the past through another web site. Also the extra charge was not made clear when booking.

However the staff are mostly very helpful indeed.
In the evening we dined at the hotel as always at least once, however the food was not up to the usual standard.

We have become fond of the University Arms and will continue to return.
They are great with the dogs too, which makes life there even more pleasant.
Top Tip: university colleges

Excellent location, very good staff, afternoon teas can be recommended in the comfortable bar watching the world go by. very English. Rooms are comfortable but dated, is definitely ready for a refurb at the prices charged.
Top Tip: try the traditional chinese dim sum lunch directly across road at Charlie Chans, it is a Cambridge institution.
