Thistle Cheltenham

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom

4 Star Hotel

Info

A contemporary hotel in Cheltenham with landscaped grounds.

Many guests at Thistle Cheltenham are in town for a Festival. Cheltenham has no fewer than five, devoted to Literature, Music (the composer Gustav Holst was born here in 1874) Science, Jazz and, perhaps most famously, National Hunt racing.

It is one of the few hotels in Cheltenham situated near Cheltenham's original attraction, the ‘waters’, with Princess (later Queen) Victoria, the Duke of Wellington, Jane Austen and Lord Byron among the Spa’s devotees. They would probably still recognise many of the town’s beautiful Regency streets and gardens. Thistle Cheltenham, however, has comforts and conveniences they could never have even imagined.

We have 122 bedrooms, including suites, and 15 meeting rooms, the largest seating 400 people theatre-style. On site parking is available at a small additional charge. And in Cheltenham’s finest tradition, our Otium Health & Leisure Club has everything you need to refresh mind and body – the only water involved being our heated indoor swimming pool.

The hotel is now offering Superfast unlimited Free Wi-Fi throughout the property to all guests.

Turned up 4hours early just to leave our car and found our rooms ready for check in. Check in was easy and staff extremly friendly. Room was lovely. Had adjoining room with family so asked for door to be opened. Nothing to much bother. Breakfast nice and again staff very helpful. Gym and pool good. Definately would return if the offer was available again.
Top Tip: Took taxi into town. Copas bar and restaurant really good value for money.

Nice hotel at a good rate. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are spacious enough, good shower, comfortable bed, reasonable size TV and all very clean. Only minor issues are that the plumbing and heating are a little bit noisy and the pillows are a bit small. The pool is really warm.
Top Tip: We weren't charged for the car park.

In view of the size of the hotel, I thought the pool was rather small and the changing area/showers inadequate.
The room was comfy and clean. It was good to be able to communicate with the very pleasant British staff.

If the car park charge was enforced when booking I would not use the Hotel
