“ Despite booking and asking twice if our room was an executive we were initially put in a classic. I was really disappointed to find having been reassured that it was an executive that there was mould in the bathroom and we overlooked the back lawns.8.5 Excellent

“ Lovely big room with comfy bed, and nice bathroom too. Breakfast that was included with our room was very tasty - fried breakfast plus a large and varied buffet. Also had free use of the swimming pool, steam room and sauna from 10am on the day of the booking. Only things that marked it down were regarding service at breakfast - one of my friends asked about the breakfast not being cooked in butter due to an allergy but the waitress never came back to confirm this, the coffee for another friend was never brought to the table and she had to ask twice before it did come, and the sausage was somehow omitted from my fried breakfast!!

When I rang to query the room rating I said this was supposed to be a special treat.
To cut a long story short, Nicola was excellent, and appeared to understand how upset and disappointed I was. Room changed and Nicola was 1st rate.

“ We were a party of three using three rooms, the reception staff were very helpful despite a busy input of visitors. The rooms were lovely and the hotel stood in wonderful gardens, we used the pool and had tea in the spa. Dinner and breakfast were of a very high standard, we will return in the future as we had a wonderful stay.
“ Top Tip: The Boathouse in Parkgate is an exceptional eating place, the standard of food and menu are a delight matched by a perfect setting and atmosphere , you need to book in advance.
