Dont usually go to hotels in the U.K because from limited experience they are a complete let down, however this hotel which me and my girlfiend booked as a one night stay over in Leeds to escape kids was superb. The hotel was very very VERY posh and not being used to such upper class surroundings we felt a little intimidated by upon approach. Despite this once we got inside we found all the staff including the butler were very down to earth welcoming and friendly. The room although quite expensive for us was well worth it the bed was very big and comfertable, we thought the big screen t.v was not working but one call to reception and a member of staff was there within 2 minutes to fix it. Our room was a 20 second walk away from the very well equipt gym and pool/ jaccuzi area which we loved and the breakfast was excellent - the best spread and variety of food i have witnessed in any English hotel 10/10 i stuffed myself right proper. The nearby village of Rothwell is very pleasent and accessable by car within 5 minutes. We enjoyed our visit to both the hotel and area in general very much and we are 100% certain we will book this hotel again was a beautiful building, countryside area, room and breakfast, made returning to our woodlouse laden rented council house in Bolton somewhat bareable knowing we could return there for a bit of luxery again.

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff.
Only problem was that I did not think to pre book evening meal so was unable to eat in the restaurant as it was full...on a Sunday evening!
However, room service was available, prompt service and a hot meal so not a problem.
Top Tip: Only there overnight so didn't explore outside, stayed in hotel and made use of pool and spa!

great location as it is so close to Leeds center

spa is also a good facility

staff friendly

wine cost more in the resturant than it did in the bar ? very odd and they wanted us to pay service on the wine when we seperated it from the food we thought service was optional and we did pay on the food

We were disappointed as we have stayed in several hotels in and around Leeds. The room we had (Yorkshire Room) was small, tired and shabby and badly in need of a re vamp. It had a lovely flat screen TV however, bathrobes and a fridge to put drinks in, but no glasses to drink from!
The bathroom was stained and chipped and no flannels. Very basic indeed for the money.
The breakfast was good but not special.
The staff were lovely and friendly. We didn't have time to use the spa/pool etc so cannot comment on that.
Probably wouldn't stay there again.

Overall very pleased with hotel and we had a lovely time, just some little bits that let it down, the bathroom had mould on the ceiling, just would not have expected it.
