Holidays to Khao Lak
Situated in the Phang Nga Province, Khao Lak occupies a 20km long area of the coastline. It was one of the areas hit the hardest by the 2004 tsunami but has made a huge recovery and become one of the must visited areas near Phuket. Khao Lak is quieter than some of it's neighbours, but boasts some of the most impressive areas of natural beauty in the south of Thailand with stunning beaches, mountains and rainforest.

Bang Niang beach sits on the main route from Phuket to the Burmese Border, and has a huge range of facilities.
Khao Lak beach
Khao Lak beach is 5km south of La On village and is a known as one of the best surf spots in Thailand.
30 minutes from Khao Lak, Lampi Waterfall is best visited in the rainy season when it makes an excellent swimming spot.

The Saori Foundation centre can be visited Monday - Saturday and is a textile workshop selling intricate woven designs.
White water rafting
Around Khao Lak it is possible to take part in white water rafting through the rainforest with professional supervision.
Rent bikes to explore the surrounding area or take part in guided tours with food and drink included.
Normally served with chicken or beef, massaman curry has Muslim origins and has been around in Thailand for 300 years.
Found at most walking markets, satay chicken or beef skewers are a local favourite which originated in Indonesia.

The Happy Snapper Bar, north of La On village, has a large stage which has local bands performing most nights.
