Orlando is known as the theme park capital of the world for good reason — it's home to some of the biggest and most famous. Walt Disney World covers over 25,000 acres (the same size as the entire city of San Francisco!). With four theme parks and two water parks, you won’t run out of Mickey-shaped things to do. Meanwhile, its biggest rival, Universal Studios is just as impressive with a spread of 50 thrilling rides across two parks.

But there are plenty of things to do in Orlando besides theme parks. Right in the middle of Florida, you’re treated to animal encounters and outdoor adventures you wouldn’t find anywhere else. The Florida Everglades are home to both ‘gators and crocs, which you can come face-to-face with on an airboat tour. Or dive into the Crystal River for a snorkel with the manatees and other marine life.

If you’re a golf fan, you’re in luck because there are over 25 golf courses in Orlando. You’ll want to tee off at the 18-hole International Course, where the Father/Son Challenge is held. The course has welcomed huge names in the golfing world and its hard and fast fairways encourage big-hitters. Of course, less serious golfers can always head for the crazy golf courses at the theme parks and hotels.

Shopaholics are going to want to arrive in Orlando with an empty suitcase because whether you’re after budget buys or high-end designer fashion, there’s a mega mall for it. Go window shopping at the Mall at Millenia, where you’ll find luxury brands such as Chanel, Jimmy Choo, and Christian Louboutin.
