Frequently Asked Questions

Sunshine is promised throughout the year in the Seychelles so there’s never a bad time to visit. Those with a specific interest may want to tailor their trip depending on the month and weather. For example, the cooler, windier climate from May to September is perfect for sailing. April, May, October and November are ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving – the water is sometimes 29°C and the underwater visibility is excellent. Those looking for a quieter holiday may want to avoid the peak periods in December and January, and July and August, when prices are also at their highest.
Hotels on Mahe island are best for families, as there’s plenty to do on Seychelles’ largest island. Stay near Bel Ombre to be within 15 minutes’ walk of Beau Vallon beach, the best known of the island’s 60 beaches, to enjoy water sports and a paddle in the child-friendly waters. Make sure to hike through Morne Seychellois National Park, which covers much of the island.Choose a hotel in Victoria, the country’s capital, to be close to both beaches and amenities. Visit the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market, six minutes’ walk from Victoria Bus Station, to pick up fresh fish, spices and taste the island’s exotic fruits.Eden Island is 11 minutes’ drive from the capital. There you’ll find luxury shops, a picture-perfect marina and Eden Plaza shopping centre. Finally, the city’s Botanical Gardens (nearly two kilometres away) are a must see, as they’re home to giant tortoises and more than 500 species of plants.Hotels on Praslin Island are well suited to couples seeking a relaxing getaway. It’s home to Seychelles only championship golf course at the Constance Lemuria Resort, in the Anse Kerlan region of the island. Cote D’Or beach on the island’s east shore is a must-see, as its unspoilt white sands and turquoise sea remain uncluttered by tourist resorts.Adventurous groups and couples should also look at hotels on La Digue. Home to the famous Anse Source D’Argent bay, where the waters are so clear you can spot fish without a snorkel, it’s a wild, unspoilt paradise that can only be explored on foot or bike.
