Holidays to Platanias (Chania)
This beautiful seaside town, only about 20 minutes from Crete’s second-largest city of Chania, boasts a very lively nightlife and a great old town for exploring. The old town climbs its way up onto the hillside behind Platanias, while the bars and tavernas snake their way along the main street and beach. There are plenty of golden sandy beaches to sunbathe on, with sunbeds, umbrellas and watersports on offer.
This large beach is extremely popular, so be sure to nab a sunbed early. Watch out for the large waves and summer winds.
Aghia Marina beach
Almost indistinguishable from its neighbour Platanias, there are vast swathes of sandy beach with plenty of bars.
Heraklion Archaeological Museum
The exhibits in this incredible museum span over 5000 years, and showcase Minoan and ancient Roman artefacts.

If you're feeling adventurous, why not try one of the many watersports activities on offer?
