Holidays to Kissonerga
A village in south-west Cyprus, this part of the island was once known for banana plantations. Today, visitors come for a selection of great hotels, lovely Cypriot food, and that all-important ingredient: sunshine. But that's not all. History buffs will love the fact that this part of the island is of great ancient significance with the extraordinary Paphos Archaeological Site close by and some fascinating Bronze Age finds from Kissonerga itself.
This lovely Blue Flag beach is close by and offers watersports and good waves for surfers. It does get busy though.
This 2km stretch of sand is just over half an hour's drive and reputed as the best kite-surfing spot in Cyprus.
House of Dionysos
The most famous part of this restored Roman villa are the fantastic mosaics which are still largely intact.
Kato Paphos Archaeological Park
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to well preserved ruins and mosaics, with the ocean only a stone's throw away.
Visit the animals at Paphos Zoo, from meerkats to monkeys. You may even see a tiger or two.
If you're a golf fanatic then you'll be pleased to know there are plenty of golf courses dotted around Paphos.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants, including many specialising in British fare like Sunday lunch.
Fish restaurants at Episkopi
Episkopi Bay is known for its excellent fish restaurants. The 60km drive round the coast should take under an hour.
Seafront bars offer plenty in the way of cocktails. Expect to stay up after midnight but probably not till dawn.
Paphos is known for its thriving night scene and many flock here for just that. Head to Bar Street for the action.
