Holidays to Majorda
The leafy village of Majorda is made up of Portuguese villas and Hindi temples situated midst palm groves, paddy fields and a 25km long stretch of beach separated from the village by a stream crossed by bamboo bridges. Hindu legend tells the story of Lord Rama held captive on this beautiful beach in southern Goa. There are a few resorts on the beach, but it’s not nearly as busy as some.
This spacious beach set against the Arabian sea gets busy in high season. You can eat at numerous beach shacks.
Take the walk along a natural trail to this calm and quiet beach, long and wide with some food shacks.

This whitewashed church with fine interior dates from the 16th Century when the Portuguese demolished a previous temple.
Paddling up the beautiful Sal backwaters in a kayak through the mangroves is a romantic activity.
Go diving from Bogmalo beach, the waters aren’t the clearest but there’s lots of marine life and coral.
Goan fish curry
The region’s speciality is a rich colourful curry made with fresh fish. It's delicious day or night.
Fish, meat and breads cooked in the traditional clay oven are packed with flavour. Grab them while they're hot.
